Visiting or Volunteering at FORES?
If you are coming to FORES to visit or volunteer please be sure to sign in and sign out. Please do not walk out the double doors when leaving campus. It is very important you come to the foyer and sign out, so we know at all times who is on campus. Mrs. Burke in the front office can take your visitor sticker and help if you are needing to leave quickly.
Lunch Visitors Welcome Any Day!
Beginning in January, we'll be moving to Monday-Friday each week. Thank you to everyone for your patience as well rolled out a new location.
PM Pick Up Arrival Time
A few reminders for PM dismissal time:
Please remain in your vehicle when picking up students. Like last year, we are not having walk-up pick ups. This allows us to focus on students and vehicles to speed up our car line as quickly as possible.
In addition, our PK students and Life Skills students dismiss on Ralph Fair side. Families arriving prior to 2:30 on that side are hindering our families needing to assist these students with loading.
Please highly consider waiting until 2:45 to arrive on either side.
Library - Mrs. Montez
Welcome back! All students have enjoyed coming to the library and finding great books to check out this week!
An upcoming library event for 4th and 5th grade FORES students is voting for their favorite Texas Bluebonnet Award book during the week of February 7-11. In October, Mrs. Montez introduced the 20 books nominated this year for the Texas Bluebonnet Award, and students have read many of the books so far. Students across the state of Texas will vote for their favorite Bluebonnet book this February. In order to vote, students must read at least 5 of the Bluebonnet books from this year’s list. Any 4th or 5th grader at FORES who reads at least 5 Bluebonnet books and votes will also get to attend a celebration in the library with board games and fun! NEW TO FORES INFORMATION
FORES Traffic Flow
For this school year, please refrain from dropping off or picking up your students directly on Chartwell Lane or across the street. There is a Fair Oaks Ranch City Ordinance in effect that prohibits parking or standing during drop off and pickup hours. We work hard to quickly get our students loaded each day, please allow us this opportunity to help ensure the safety of our students.
Boerne ISD to Offer Free Meals for all Students in 2021-22
Boerne ISD has announced that during the 2021-22 school year healthy meals, both breakfast, and lunch, will be offered to all students at no cost.
Typically, a student’s household must meet income eligibility requirements to qualify for free or reduced-price meals. However, the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) issued guidance that allows schools to offer meals to all students at no cost for the 2021-2022 school year.
Students can have up to 5 items on their tray. The least amount they can have is 3 to make a free lunch. There is no "extra" or "seconds" this year due to the number of students eating this year.
If students are getting just milk, individual food items, ice cream, juice, water, chips, etc, those item are individually priced.
For more information, including Frequently Asked Questions, please click here.
If you have any questions please contact The Boerne ISD Child Nutrition Department 830-257-2064 or email Javier Romero.
Mobile ordering is not up as of now. Notification will go out once it is ready for use.
Dropping off Lunch?
Our Current Process: Mrs. Burke places the black cart just inside the cafeteria prior to lunch times. As classes pass by, teachers and students look for their labeled lunch. Our teachers are also going to be including this information in substitute plans so our wonderful substitutes know this process as well.
Birthday Treats Must Include Nutrition Labels
Birthday treats must be store bought with a nutrition label. This is a BISD procedure that has been in place since 2018. Treats from bakery's must also include nutrition labels.
Please view the BISD Severe Food Allergy Management Plan for more information at https://www.boerneisd.net/Page/8985.
Page 13 states: All foods brought to campus for special occasions such as birthday parties, holiday parties, any special occasion MUST have an FDA approved label with ingredients and allergens legibly listed.

Absence Notes
Hi families! I am the Attendance Secretary, Catherine Burke, and I look forward to getting to know you all. I wanted to let you know that when your student is absent from school, please email the teacher as soon as you can and include the student's first and last name on the email. Also, please include me in that email to make sure everyone is notified. My email is: Catherine.burke@boerneisd.net
The state requires we are notified in writing and a record is kept in the student files. Thanks for helping the process be as efficient as possible from the start.
