Henri Cartier-Bresson
He's cool
Henri Cartier-Bresson was born on August 22, 1908 in Chanteloup, France. He was the oldest of five kids and his family was very wealthy. His father made a fortune as a textile manufacturer. Cartier-Bresson developed an early love for literature and the arts. He studied at Cambridge University. Henri was a pioneer in journalism and travled around the world with his camera. He was always very amused with his surrounding environment. He covered many of the world biggest events from the Spanish Civil War to the French uprisings in 1968.
He is a photo-journalist, landscape, and documentary photographer. In his work I see many different emotions in the people and the overall mood is usually pretty intense. His work has been pretty consistent over time. He used many techniques like the rule of thirds.
