Know the Truth
"Then you will know the truth and the truth will set you free." John 8:32
A Message from Dr. Marquardt
Thanks to all those who prayerfully and generously supported our Black & White GALA event. We successfully raised $175,000 for new and improved school security and student wellness. The event itself, at the Balboa Bay Resort, with 300 tickets sold, was a night of fun and fellowship. A very special thanks to Gala Chairperson, Mrs. Cynthia McGuff, for all her work, and that of the Gala Committee members.
November will bring about the end of our first Trimester. Trimester 1 ends on Friday, November 18th, followed by our Thanksgiving break. While school is out for the week of November 21st through the 25th, our teaching staff will be learning at the Pacific Southwest District - Lutheran Educators Conference from November 20th to the 22nd. Some of the keynote presentations include educational leaders: Matt Miller-The Attention Switch; Donalyn Miller-The Joy of Reading; and Matt de la Pena-Reluctant Reader to Author.
Before we go on break, we will have a very special Thanksgiving Chapel where everyone will bring in their Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes that they personally pack to provide to a child in need somewhere in our world. This is one of our most beloved philanthropies and if you are new to our school, you will soon see the excitement build for this special hands-on project. More information will be forthcoming, but I encourage you to spend time with your child learning about this exciting and engaging project – Operation Christmas Child.
Please join me in giving Thanks to Jesus for having brought all of us through the past difficult years as a nation and asking for His guidance as we look to His Word and His Truth to sustain us all and move forward together as Christian Soldiers for Christ Jesus.
It was truly an unforgettable evening!

Red Hill Lutheran Church News
Pastor's Corner
Dear Red Hill Lutheran School Families,
God’s Word reminds us that…
“Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us…” (Hebrews 12.1)
The “great cloud of witnesses” that the book of Hebrews describes are those men and women who lived faithful lives, serving our Lord and others, and now rest from their labors in heaven. According to Scripture, they are saints.
In the ancient, Christian calendar, November 1st is recognized as All Saints Day. All Saints Day dates back to approximately 610 A.D. when the Pantheon in Greece, turned into a Christian Church, was dedicated to all saints. The 1662 Book of Common Prayer describes that this Christian holy-day (holiday) calls us to gratefully remember those who have died in the Christian faith and “the unity of Christians of all ages, countries, and races in Christ, and the perfection of that unity in heaven." Every follower of Christ is a member of God’s family, a family that transcends time and space; a spiritual family that is current and ancient. All Saints Day is an annual reminder of this incredible truth.
