Weekend Update 1/12/24
Lincoln Middle School | Weekend Update
Lincoln Weekend Update, January 12, 2024
Lincoln Community,
We hope this finds everyone safe and warm. We have some important updates and reminders to share with you as we head into the weekend.
With the winter weather upon us, we want to take this opportunity to remind our families to exercise extra caution during drop-off and pick-up times. The safety of our students is our top priority, especially during inclement and slippery conditions. We appreciate your awareness and respect for our dedicated school crossing guards – Mr. Bonadurer, Mr. Sakowicz, Mr. Rollinger, Mr. Gattuso, and Mr. Tsichlis. Rain or shine, they are there to ensure the safety of Lincoln students. Your cooperation and patience are invaluable, especially during extreme weather conditions.
We're excited to share that Fall to Winter MAP scores will be distributed to students during Advisory on Thursday, January 18. Students will be directed to bring these reports home at the end of the day. It's a great opportunity to celebrate their achievements and discuss areas for growth.
As always, we appreciate your partnership and cooperation in making our school community a safe and nurturing environment for our students. If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out. As a reminder, there will be no school on Monday, January 15, 2024, in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
As we encounter our first substantial winter snow, we hope families have a safe weekend, especially if traveling.
In Partnership,
Eric Larson, Laena DiVito, Jason Jonas

Updated Local Traffic Signs Near Lincoln
We want to be sure everyone is aware that during the first week of January, new signs will be installed that indicate “No Stopping, Standing, or Parking on School Days from 7-8am and 2-3pm.” These new signs will be placed along Can Dota Avenue, north of Milburn, as well as an additional sign near the northwest corner of Wal Pella and Milburn. Please be sure to adhere to the new signage upon its installation.
If you would like to learn more about the discussion at the Mount Prospect Safety Commission that led to this decision, you can follow this link to read the minutes from the meeting.
