January 2020
Dear Friend:
Happy New Year! We hope you enjoyed the holidays with family and friends.
The Kelly Anne Dolan Memorial Fund provides assistance for needs not covered by insurance to families who are caring for seriously ill, disabled or severely injured children in the tri-state area. Although they are often invisible to all but the family, the non-medical side effects of serious childhood illness can be devastating. Financial assistance from KADMF can ease these burdens, allowing the parents or guardians to focus more fully on the needs of the child and improving the quality of life for the entire family.
Tamanend Middle School, located in nearby Warrington, has been supporting this important organization for nineteen years by hosting a Kelly Anne Dolan Day, which includes a 3-on-3 Basketball tournament and other activities for the students and Tamanend families. Five hundred Tamanend students participate in the annual event, and over the last nineteen years the students have raised over $476,000. Last year alone, they raised over $29,000! The 20th Annual Kelly Anne Dolan Basketball Shoot-Out will be held on Saturday, February 22, 2020, and we hope to surpass last year’s total.
We hope your business considers making a monetary donation or a gift card donation for our gift basket drawings. Your contribution will mean so much to the families who need support from the KADMF this year. While we will gratefully accept any donation, our sponsor levels are as follows:
20th Anniversary Platinum Sponsor - $1000 donation

Monetary donations, made out to KADMF, can be mailed directly to me at Tamanend or to KADMF (address is below). Donations can also be made at dolanfund.org, just make a note that your donation is part of Tamanend’s Basketball Shoot-Out. Gift cards can be mailed to Tamanend, or I am happy to stop by and get them. The Kelly Anne Dolan Memorial Fund is a 501(c) (3) charitable organization, contributions to which are tax-deductible as permitted by law.
Thank you so much for your time and thoughtful consideration in reviewing this request. Should you have any questions about KADMF or this event, please feel free to contact me. I look forward to hearing from you!

Congratulations Boomerang Youth Recognition Winners!
The Boomerang Youth Recognition Award is a district wide program which recognizes and honors youth in our community for exemplifying and living by the chosen asset for each month of the school year.
First, we would like to recognize Brett Barrett who was chosen as a district winner for the asset of Honesty. Brett was chosen out of all of the middle school nominees in the district. He will be featured in the Bucks County Herald and he will be presented with a district award by CB Cares director. Congratulations to Brett!
The next student we will recognize is our winner for the month of January. The asset was Equality and Justice— recognizing a young person places high value on promoting equality and reducing hunger and poverty. We had 39 nominations. All nominees will be celebrated tomorrow in a special reception during Advisory. Now we would like to highlight our building winner, 8th grade student, Heera Kalidindi
At school, Heera is known for dedication to inclusion and helping others. As a Resource rep, she is the leader for raising money for those in need and she did an especially great job reminding her classmates to donate during the Thanksgiving Food Drive. Outside of school, Heera is active in the community through service opportunities and Girl Scouts. Heera connects her work in school and in the community by volunteering at events like Cooking for the Community, during which she served hot meals to those in need. Most recently, Heera spearheaded a fundraiser to support the local Big Brothers/Big Sisters chapter with Sam Thomas.
Congratulations to Heera and all of the following nominees: Kareem Ahmed-Aly, Auoss Azzarouk, Lidia Blinov, Yana Buelens, Michael Bullard, Benjamin Busick, Olivia Carroll, Jeremy Chen, Kathleen Collins, Ethan Cunningham, Anderson DeChiaro, Emma Deeken, Gabrielle Devito, Mark Etgen, Edwin Flores Ramos, Maelyn Frenkel, Grace Gannon, Elizabeth Gift, Caylee Hansel, Kiera Hansel, Joshua Harper, Hannah Hesdon, Landen Hinds, Gabriella Jusino, Jeanine Mohammad, Yana Mikhailov, Sanaa Nash-Easley, Aidan O’Hara, Padmini Pillai Swarasatwika , Raniya Robson, Emely Rosales-Fuentes, Brooke Rosica, Yordana Samayoa, Julianna Smith, Kaitlin Sullivan, Alycia Szyszko, Samantha Thomas, Elly Uritsky, Madison Wojciechowski
CB Save the Music a Huge Success!
Thank you to all who supported the CB Save the Music concert last weekend! The concerts featured engaging performances from Tamanend’s Chieftain Chorus, Gold’n’Blues, String Ensemble, and Mr. Sanchez. Many Tamanend families supported the cause be attending one or more of the three concerts, volunteering, donating items, or attending a dine and donate event. While the final donation amount for the Save the Music Foundation has not yet been finalized, we are confident we will reach beyond our $40,000 goal for this year. Special thanks to the presenting sponsor of the concerts, Café with Soul in Doylestown, for pledging to contribute an additional 20% of the concert’s revenue to increase the final donation amount!

Student Assistance Program (SAP)
Reminder--Help is Down the Hall
The Tamanend Student Assistance Program (SAP) Team is a group of trained faculty members who can connect students with appropriate help and resources if they show signs of struggling with mental health concerns or alcohol/substance use. If you notice concerns such as major changes in behavior or mood, drop in achievement, or use of drugs or alcohol, then you may consider a SAP referral. When the team receives a referral, we gather more information to determine if there is a need for intervention and further assessment. The information is confidential, and the process is for the purpose of offering help. Anyone can refer a student about whom they are concerned. Referrals can be made at this referral link or by contacting a SAP team member:
Mrs. Barlow, Mrs. Cammann, Sra. Corsino, Mr. Dudley, Mr. Heisey,
