SLES Family Roar
Weeks 9/11 - 9/22
Dear Families,
Hello Families!
Here at SLES, we are a Team! Our team is focused on Growth, Expectations, and Relationships. I am very proud of the professionals who work with me in the front office to ensure that we have the very BEST school in Calvert County!
As a team, we want to involve our families and students as much as possible. We have many ways to partner with our families and students. One way we do this is to offer a variety of clubs such as Musical Theater, MESA, and the Good News Club just to name a few! This year, we will have a flat fee for most clubs at SLES of $25. These funds will go directly back into the school. Please contact Ms. Irvin if you are in need of a scholarship or financial assistance.
We are continuing to share helpful tips for getting back to school. The tip for this week is, eat a well-balanced meal breakfast. Whether you eat breakfast at home or at school it is an essential start to your day. Eating breakfast will help keep you focused on learning.
Our character trait this month is Respect. To show respect, listen to each other’s' points of view, recognizing that there may be disagreement.
HEART Felt (Feeding Empty Little Tummies)

The food is provided to our students and families at NO additional cost. Contents will include a small meal/supplemental items and snacks for the weekend. If you have any questions or interested in receiving a bag, please feel free to contact Ms. Bryant at 443-550-9763.

Tip #1 - Establish a morning routine as a family and stick to it
Find a way to get up early before the family and make everyone up. Practice grooming, brushing teeth, eating breakfast, packing up all the things you need, going for a walk, biking, going to the pool, etc. Announce to everyone the departure time and where you will meet, either in the car, in the garage, or at the front door.
Our character trait this month is Respect. What are some ways you can show respect to your school, community, and family?
