Safety Drills

Safety is always our first priority. Over the next few weeks, we will complete our mandatory fire drills. We will also practice our lockdown prodcedures. A lockdown would be initiated if their was a major threat to safety in the school building. During a lockdown students, staff and visitors remain in the building in secured locations. Teachers will review the lockdown steps with students before the practice drill and debrief after the practice. If you have any questions about our lockdown procedures please feel free to contact us.

3 Weeks 4 Change

Wow! Our Grade 2/3s have been leading the way to raise funds for St. Catherine's Primary School in Kenya to purchase school supplies. Tomorrow is the last day to bring in spare change for this important cause!

Thanks to all the families who sent in cakes for the cake walk last Friday! It was very successful :)

Biking to School

Please be mindful of these safety considerations:

- Supervision starts at 8:55 am. Students should not be on the school yard before this time.

- Students should never bike on the school yard, in the bus lane, on the sidewalk near the bus lane or in the parking lot.

- Upon arrival and at dissmissal, students should use the 2nd entrance. Bikes should be parked at the bike rack.

Greg Anderson, our Community Police Officer, came to do a bike safety presentation with our Grade 4-8 students last week. Here's a few remembers:

  • Go With the Traffic Flow. Ride on the right in the same direction as other vehicles
  • Obey All Traffic Laws. A bicycle is a vehicle and you're a driver
  • Yield to Traffic When Appropriate
  • Be Predictable
  • Stay Alert at All Times
  • Look Before Turning
  • Watch for Parked Cars
  • Ride single file (not in packs)
