CHOIR results from Ms. Lewis
Men: They performed VALIANTLY! Earned an Excellent in both Sight-Reading and in Concert! (This is a 2) It was the first time in our school's history to take a men's choir to competition
Women: WE GOT A CLEAN SWEEPSTAKES FOR THE FIRST TIME IN THE HISTORY OF THE SCHOOL!!!! (Every single judge gave us the highest scores in Sight-Reading and Concert) We have never received both a 1 in Sight-Reading and a 1 in Concert... and they did not just do that... they got ALL 1's.
BAND results from Mr. Sanchez
The concert band earned a 1st division in sight reading. This is the first time that the second band from Cavazos has ever gotten a 1st division in either category and is the first time that the group has ever brought home any trophy hardware.
The symphonic band had a wonderful performance on stage and in the Sight Reading room earning a rating of 111,111. As we were leaving, judges pulled me aside and said that our hard work is evident in our demeanor and that there are bands that come in and play and there are bands that PLAY and that ours is a band that really goes for it. One of the judges comment sheets only had 5 words on it... WOW! WOW!WOW! WOW! WOW!
ORCHESTRA from Mr. Cornelsen
The Cavazos Orchestra earned a "1" on the Concert/Stage portion of UIL and a "2" in Sight reading. The Orchestra has not received a 1 on stage since 1999. All Junior high Orchestras were changed to Non Varsity when the change to Middle school occurred. We haven't had a Concert 1 since. We are now a Varsity Orchestra!
