Weathering is the breaking down of rocks. Erosion then carries away the broken sediments. Deposition lays down the sediments. Soil is a mixture of organic remains ,clay and rock particles.
There are three types of weathering: Chemical, Mechanical, and Biological weathering. Mechanical weathering is when rocks are broken down into smaller rocks. Chemical weathering is the erosion of rocks. Biological weathering is when rocks are weakened by plants or animals.
One landform caused by erosion is the famous, Grand Canyon in Arizona. Another example of erosion is "The Wave." This landform was caused by wind; also in Arizona.
Landforms created by deposition are dunes on beaches and alluvial fans.
Soil Composition is made of air, minerals, water, and organic material.
Soil in NC is mostly used for farming. The "Cecil" is the official state soil of North Carolina.
