- Who is doing what role during our Mystery Skype?
Objectives:
- Encourage and capture classroom collaboration
- Join Skype in the Classroom to find transformation learning experiences
- Evaluate or use the resources in the Skype notebook to organize and record your global connections
- Find guides speakers and virtual field trips without leaving the classroom
Success Criteria:
- The participants can launch the Skype in the Classroom site and join the site.
- The participants can locate Skype contacts.
- The participants can share how they will use Skype with students.
Task 2: Skype Call (Mystery Skype Call) @ 4:45 p.m.
- Once call is initiated, I will get us introduced.
- At this point, the moderator will need a question to get started.
- Recorder/Question Keeper(s) need to keep a list of questions we have asked and answers to those questions; today, we can use the board
- Mappers can bring up Bing maps to use to help with asking focused questions.
- Tweeter/Photographer/Videographers can document and post to @evanscitc on Twitter
Task 3: Skype Reflections
Small Group Reflections:
- What ROLES did other people take?
- When the class does the next Mystery Skype call, what actions should the class take to make sure that we are more successful? (Keys to Success)
- What needs to be improved and how? What didn't work, and how do we fix it?
- What would a student look like who was doing an excellent job in a Mystery Skype challenge?

- Book your tech coach to help the first time with set up and execution of Mystery Skype
Task 5: How to find Skype contact in directory
- You will only see Skype Directory after you begin typing (notice picture below)
- The person you are Skyping will also need to check their settings
- Look at how to find a contact
- Best Practice: Add the contact to your email contacts
Closure Activity
- Review of objectives and success criteria
- Contact tech coach and set up appointment with him/her
- Fill out PD Evaluation
