Communication from the school
The Juneau School District and Harborview Elementary employ a system known as Blackboard Mass Notification for the dissemination of crucial information and updates to all families. Harborview utilizes this system for various purposes, such as issuing reminders about Early Release Mondays, updates to bus schedules, notifications about school photos, updates on school events, newsletters, and more. The method of message delivery, whether through text message or email, depends on the length of the content.
In the event of an emergency, Harborview will also utilize the Blackboard Mass Notification system to communicate promptly with families. If you have not received any messages from Harborview throughout the year, we kindly request that you contact the office at 907-523-1850 or email harborview@juneauschools.org to ensure that we have accurate contact information for you.

Annual Title 1 Meeting Announcement
Harvest Festival 🍁
October 11, 5:00-7:00pm
Our Harvest Festival is planned for October 11, Wednesday from 5-7 PM. For those of you who are new to the school and community, during our annual Harvest Festival, we share salmon dinner with salad, bread, and this year, soup from our Harborview, Haa Xoonx'i Taayi (Our Friend's Garden). We also encourage families to bring an appetizer or a family recipe dish to share. This is our way to welcome new families to the school, get to know each other, and reconnect with our school community.
We need volunteers to help on the day of the event, we cannot make this happen without you! We are looking for people to come early on October 11, Wednesday, to help prepare for the event. We have various tasks you can volunteer for such as preparing the food, setting up the commons, starting the grills, cooking the salmon, serving the meals, and cleaning up after the event. E-mail Jem Gaceta at jemmalyn.gaceta@juneauschools.org or call 907-523-1897 to sign up.
