Volunteer Appreciation Breakfast - June 6th
If you have volunteered in any way to support our Silver Springs community, the Silver Springs Staff would like to say THANK YOU! Please join us at a Volunteer Appreciation Celebration on Tuesday, June 6th, beginning at 8:15 AM in our library. Please feel free to bring your child/children to have breakfast with you!
Book Donation Request
Please consider donating used books to the Media Center.
We will gladly accept any donation. If we can’t use in the Media Center we will use in our Book Exchange or Little Library. Thank you!
Please see the attachment for additional information and to see specifically which books we are interested in, which will be used to replace our worn out copies.
Get Involved…Make a Difference
Yes, we need you! The Silver Springs PTA is looking for caring parents to get involved on the Executive Board for the 2017-18 academic year! The Treasurer position is key because there can’t be a PTA without one. Most of the work can be done from home and the previous Treasurer will help guide you through the duties. We will be in jeopardy of losing all the events and educational programs the PTA provides like Fun Fair, Daddy Daughter Dance, IXL and lots more without a complete board. We are all busy and our time is limited…BUT this is your PTA, serving your children. Every parent can get involved and make a difference! You will definitely play a major role in helping make Silver Springs better and fun for our students and families. Help make the 2017-18 year great for our children and school. It would be great to end this year with the Executive Board complete. Thank you! Please contact Leslie Cardenas for more information silversprings.pta.president@gmail.com
Cub Scouts Spring Recruitment:
Silver Springs Cub Scout Pack 712 kicked off their Spring Recruitment drive this past week. If you missed it or were unable to make one of our open house nights, it's still not too late for your family to come join the fun. We accept new scouts year-round. Anybody interested can visit our website at http://cubscoutspack712.weebly.com/ or contact Cubmaster David Cummings at (248) 763-2976 for more information.
We have many upcoming family adventures that we’d love to share with you, including a summer Field Day & Barbecue, Toledo Mud Hens sleepover on the field, exciting and educational STEM activities, Summer Day Camp Extravaganza and a Star Gazing night at Kensington Park.
A note from Food Services...
If you're interested in working a few hours a day while your children are in school, the Food Service department has openings for Food Service Assistants. Please check the website for more information or call 248-344-3690.

Supporting the The 7 Habits at home!
Habit #7: Sharpen the Saw
What this means: Balance feels best. In order to maintain and increase effectiveness, we must renew ourselves in body, mind, heart and soul.
“I take care of my body by eating right, exercising, and getting sleep.”
“I find meaningful ways to help others.”
“I spend time with family and friends.”
“I learn in lots of ways and places, not just at school.”
How can I do this in my life?
1. Go for a walk.
2. Read a book.
3. Volunteer in your community.
4. Value the difference in others.
