August 5th at 10am, 2pm, or 6pm: WE ARE BALLY DAY for new students

August 7th at 7am or 5pm: SCHEDULE PICKUP for all students

Professional Development/Meetings

Unit 1's should be near completion/in good shape to start the year (not UA).

This includes progression of standards, essential questions, proficiency scales for every standard, as well as preassessment and summative assessment. This work must be done in tandem with Stacie. If you're not where you think you should be, please reach out.

  • July 29: Math Unit 1 Planning at 1:30
  • July 31: New to Boone Teacher Training at Ralph Rush from 8:30-3:30
  • August 1: Stacie and Erika at Student Centered Coaching Training all day
  • August 2: New to Bally Training from 8-12
  • August 5: Benefits 101 for new staff. 1st year Kentucky teachers and staff at 8am. Anyone who has worked in another Kentucky school system at 1pm at Ralph Rush.
  • August 6: Erika at Principal Meeting/Cluster Meeting all day
  • August 7: Team Leader Meeting from 3-4:30, Social Studies Unit 1 Planning at 9am, 8th ELA Unit Planning at Noon, Admin Code training for Tia, Safety training for James at Camp Ernst at 8am
  • August 12: Opening Day/Unit 1 Work and Presentations (7:30-2:45 at Bally)
  • August 13: Behavior RTI (PBIS)/Behavior Flip Training (7:30-2:45 at Bally)

August 12th: Opening Day


Focus: Mandatory Opening Day Information and Unit 1 Presentations


  • 7:30-9:30 Time on your own to complete Opening Day tasks. Opening Day tasks can be found on the Bally Staff Site, 19.20 Opening Day page.
  • 9:30 Speed Dating
  • 10:00 Mandatory Opening Day Information (Evaluation, Emergency Plan, Q and A about 1st 13 days of Tutorial, Day 1 tasks, We Are Bally Night)
  • 10:45 Jill, Heather, Alicia, Sarah
  • 11:00-12:30 Lunch on your own (I will also order pizza for anyone that wants to stay at the building.)
  • 12:30-1:30 SEL Training by Meredith and Stacie for new SEL Teachers
  • 1:30-1:45 e-hallpass training for new teachers
  • 1:45-2:45 Teams present their Unit 1's for full staff. Review of our commitments made in the Focused Instructional Plan, Discussion of this year's walkthrough instrument, Discussion of The Writing Revolution work during the 19.20 school year.

**Paras may choose to attend from 9:30-11:00 and may clock in and be paid. Do not attend the full day.

August 13th: PBIS/Behavior RTI/Behavior Flip Training Day


Focus: Behavior and its impact on achievement


7:30-11:30: Training

11:30-12:15: Lunch provided by PTSO

12:15-2:45: Training
