Weishaar Weekly

Week of Sept 9th-13th

Bright Stars

Jackie Johnson and Lana DeHoff- I just want to say a huge “thank you” to Jackie and Lana for helping me, 3rd grade team, and all teachers by pulling books for our new integrated units. It saves us a ton of time although I know it takes a ton of time for you two. You are a dynamic duo and just wanted to give props where they are due!!! Nominated by Alisa Ayres

Technology Integration

Having a tough time coming up with writing lessons without a formal curriculum? Try out wonderopolis.org. Each day an intriguing question is posed that you can explore in a variety of ways. It even gives vocabulary for the exploration, "Wonder Words," and activities you can try out with friends or family members.

Polishing Instruction

It's never a bad thing to review Bloom's as we are raising the level of questioning in our classrooms. I want you to pay special attention to the verbs (italicized) that follow the question and ask yourself if you're using this type of language in the classroom. If not, try to structure your instruction so students are completing questions or projects at the high end of the pyramid.
