Proliferation Of Nuclear Weapons.

By: Bricen Calloway

Why I chose My topic

I chose proliferation of nuclear weapons because it always interested me as a kid and still does to this day. I knew i could pick a lot of good songs from different decades to go with this topic.
Sting - Russians

"Russians" - Sting (1985)

This song intrigued me when i first heard it because it says "I hope the russians love their children too" which im sure is implying the cold war.
Alphaville - Forever Young lyrics

"Forever Young" - Alphaville (1984)

I chose this song because when i was younger there was a remix by jay-z of this song and i loved it, i never knew that the real song was about nuclear war and surviving it and hoping to live for another day.
Nena - 99 red balloons

"99 luft balloons" AKA "99 red balloons" -Nena (1984)

I chose this song because growing up as a kid my parents liked 80s music and i heard it many of times. I never knew what the song meant till now, it all makes sense.
Iron Maiden 2 Minutes To Midnight (Studio Version)

"2 minutes to midnight" - Iron maiden (1984)

I chose this song because the title sounded cool and i like the cover on the track. The song is a hard rock/metal song about dying in vain while a nuclear war rages.
Pink Floyd - Two Suns In The Sunset

"Two suns in the sunset" - Pink Floyd (1983)

I chose this song because if a person listens to this song they will understand how a nuclear bomb works, what it looks like, sounds like, etc.
Crosby, Stills & Nash - Wooden Ships

"Wooden Ships" - Crosby Stills and Nash (1969)

I chose this song because i listened to a lot of Crosby Stills and Nash growing up as a kid. i think this song is a good representation for my topic.
sly fox - Lets go all the way

"Lets go all the way" - Slyfox (1985)

I chose this song because, like a bunch of 80s songs they talk about nuclear war. The song talks about late 19th century politics over and over.
Sandra - Hiroshima

"Hiroshima" - Sandra (1990)

I chose this song because i thought it was a good song replicating world war 2 and how the nuclear bomb was dropped on Hiroshima. i think it is one of the best songs for the topic i am doing.
