Belmont Elementary: A PAWSitive Place to Learn!
Character Packs are Back!
Once in their packs, students participate in a short opening chat, engage with a story chosen to teach a particular social skill for character development, and then usually complete a short activity that gets turned into a full-school bulletin board in the main hall to help remind us of our time together.
Today, we talked about what brings us JOY, then watched Joy read us The Energy Bus for Kids, by Jon Gordon. After that, we had just enough time to follow rule number one, which is create a positive vision. All of our personal ideas will come together for a Belmont Positive Vision Board! You can check it out when you're here next week for conferences and the book fair!
There's a positive energy in the air around here! We're riding the Energy Bus!
FastBridge Screener Scores are Available in Skyward Family Access
Less good news: All that you can actually see is a number that doesn't tell you much.
Great news: Conferences are this week and your child's teacher is ready to talk more in depth with you soon.
BEST news ever: We've got other information to share as well, because your child is so much more than a number.
If you have any questions, please be sure to ask them! We LOVE talking about your child's learning, both to problem-solve and celebrate! Thank you so much for your time!
In the Building is a BEautiful Place to BE!
We also have ONE position available in the front office. We are super sad to share that our Kelly Hall is moving back over to her kiddos' school. She loves us and all of you, but let's face it folks, our own kids trump all! Would you love to be the positive face inside our front door and the cheery voice on the other end of the phone? Let's talk!
If you, or someone you know, might be interested in joining Team BE, please reach out! I can't wait to talk with you to see if our needs meet your needs and your needs meet our needs...you get the idea! Call Pam at 913-667-1810, email to phargrove@usd232.org, or apply online here.
Bulldog Dash is a FUNdraiser!! It's Not Too Late to SUPPORT YOUR BULLDOG!
Thank you to all of the parents who came to cheer them on! It's important for our children to know that we believe in them and you made that clear!
Now, folks, on behalf of all of us dreamers here at Belmont, I want to say that WE BELIEVE WE CAN meet our goal. We're not there yet, but we're over the $5,000 mark and that is so very promising! THANK YOU!! The donation link is still open and every dollar, every forward, every cute phone call your child might make to grandma (I'm a grandma, so I know these will soon come my way, as well!), and every plug for business sponsorship is appreciated greatly.
Look no further for the link because here it is! THIS is how we raise most of our funds each your to cover our very modest PTO budget. Our GOAL is to raise $15,000.00 in donations. We are so excited to offer you, our busy parents, an easy-peasy way to support our students and staff monetarily, right here at the beginning of the year when we need it most to plan the rest of the year's fun!
The PTO budget supports so many worthy causes including field trips, Learning Expeditions, our student school supply closet, learning projects and subscriptions, technology, staff appreciation, family events and most successfully...our Grant Fairy Program that makes teacher dreams come true all year long!
We will keep the Bulldog Dash Donation Link open until September 26 for your convenience!
If every child receives about $50 in sponsorships, we'll hit our goal! The Bulldog Dash is NOT A CONTEST! WE ALL BELONG and we're all in this together, so every dollar supports our collective goal! Of course, we'll celebrate when we hit it! We'll also enjoy many, many PTO benefits all year long.
We can do this! Together! THANK YOU!! Did you get that link? Great! Cash and checks also accepted in our school office! You may also send it to school with your children.
Please, note that sales tax will be charged for the book fair. It could be a great opportunity for students to do some math!
From our BE PTO! So...That's Kind of Like From YOU to YOURSELF!
Looking for SPECIFIC ways to support our school through PTO leadership? Check out the list below and consider joining the fun!
- Co-Chair This position helps support and facilitate all of the things! This person does hold a decision-making seat on the oversight board and will be backed up and supported by an entire team of awesome people.
- Organizer of the Dog Piles This does sound a bit suspicious, but another FUNdraising opportunity at Belmont is the surprise Dog Pile. Have you seen the flamingo fad? We've got our own version and it's so much fun to see where the dog piles will pop up in the spring. We need organizers of the pop ups, and people to make the magic happen!
- PTO@BelmontPTO Email Monitor Are you the master of your account? Want to also be the master of ours so that we don't miss anyone? We'd love to share that love!
- Website Master Our BEPTO website is WordPress driven and ready for a new updater! Is that YOU? Are YOU a WordPress master? It's not that it's hard, it just needs done!
- YOU! We just need YOU to watch for Bulldog Dash information and have fun with us as we FUNdraise.
