War of 1812

Indiana's territorial governor William Henry Harrison led troops into Tippecanoe for a victory in the fall of 1811. The Indians were convinced to go into the Northwest territory when they were defeat. The war was supported by the Western and Southern congressmen. Great Britain was trading with New Englanders who heavily relied on it.

Mexican/American war

The war began on April 25, 1846. U.S. soldiers were attacked by Mexican cavalry. They killed about a dozen men. After that they laid siege along the Rio Grande at an American fort. General Zachary Taylor called in reinforcements.

Andrew Jackson

Andrew Jackson was born in 1767. He died in 1845. He was a wealthy lawyer in Tennessee. After the war broke out in 1820 Jackson influenced a lot of people. The new Democratic Party leader became Andrew Jackson.
