Please join us for the seventh installment of the Fall 2019 H. Wayne Snider Distinguished Guest Lecturer Series, as we host Tim McDermott, CPCU, ARe (Class of 2011), Director of Product Management at Munich Re Digital Partners.
Tim is currently a Director of Product Management for Munich Re Digital Partners, a global venture designed to develop propositions with InsurTech, Fintechs, and digital disruptors to innovate and digitize insurance along the entire value chain. Tim is responsible for managing the product development, underwriting, growth, and ultimate profitability of commercial multiline insurance portfolios.
Previously, Tim was an Insurance Programs Underwriter in Munich Re’s Specialty Markets Division, where he held similar responsibilities for the large broker and bank-owned PA/MGA client group. His underwriting experience extends across multiple classes and lines of business, including commercial property, general liability, auto liability, workers compensation, and professional liability.
Beginning his insurance career with Munich Re in 2011 as a Risk Analyst, Tim completed a 2.5 year rotational program that combined primary insurance and reinsurance training in underwriting & actuarial pricing, reinsurance contracts, catastrophe management, financial management & accounting, and client management.
Tim earned a Bachelor’s Degree from Temple University, where he majored in Risk Management & Insurance, and holds the Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) and Associate in Reinsurance (ARe) professional designations. While at Temple, Tim was an active member and officer of the Sigma Chapter of Gamma Iota Sigma, and served as president during his senior year.
Tim is a native of Philadelphia, and currently lives in Langhorne, PA. He is active in his community and serves on the board of directors of a local non-profit organization.
