Alcohol and Adolescents:
"Brains, Behaviors and Beyond" presented by Dr. Aaron White
We had a wake up call as a community when some students were suspended after arriving at the Homecoming Dance under the influence of alcohol. The PTSA is devoting the next meeting entirely to a discussion on this subject. Our speaker will be Aaron White, PhD who works in the Division of Epidemiology and Prevention Research at the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (NIAAA) where he is the Program Director for NIAAA-funded research on underage and college drinking prevention. You can read more about him on his LinkedIn page.

THIS EVENT IS OPEN TO STUDENTS AND PARENTS!
Alcohol and Adolescents: Brains, Behaviors and Beyond
Dr. White will present the most recent research on drug and alcohol abuse in teenagers, and will also lead a discussion on strategies to best support our teens, including school programs and parenting approaches for preventing, or at least delaying, alcohol and drug use among youth.
This meeting will replace the regular PTSA business meeting, originally scheduled for Nov 18th. Your RSPV is helpful for planning purposes, but not required in order to attend.
