Bonnes Vacances ! Have a Great Summer! ¡Felices vacaciones!
Despite the difficulties this year has presented to us, it has been my honor to serve our fantastic community in my role as Head of School. I have been not just impressed, but inspired by the level of care, collegiality, and mutual support we have all shown to one another—from students to teachers to staff to parents and guardians. We could not have successfully navigated the year (with zero cases of COVID on campus no less!) without each other’s full support and cooperation. Thank you for demonstrating this level of care each and every day of school this year. If there’s ever a summer break we have all deserved, it’s this one! Take the time to relax, to read, to have fun, and to connect with friends and family. Take time to reflect on the positive elements that helped get us through this year and use those as an inspiration for and even more successful 2021-2022 school year. Even though it’s summer break, I will be communicating with the community over the coming weeks, so keep an eye on your mailboxes. Until then, passez de très bonnes vacances ! ¡Que lo pasen súper bien!

MAP Results and Workshop
Thank you for your patience as we have worked to close out the Spring 2021 MAP session. We are in the final process of creating the grade level norms, which will be published on our website on Monday of next week. At that time, we will also be sending out all of the individual family reports for each child. For families who have not yet attended a Family Workshop, we will be scheduling a session next week as well; you will be contacted directly with an invitation to join this workshop. Please keep an eye on your emails for MAP-related information next week.
AIS Cabi Event
We would like to extend a big thank you to Jill Jacobs-Tunks and Mahya Farnia & Sonrisas Dental Center for hosting a Mom's Night Out event! Jill will be generously donating a portion of sales back to AIS! And thank you to all the participants who joined in and modeled.
Thank you to all the families who joined us for our end-of-year Spirit Night at the Blue Starlight Drive-In. It was fantastic to celebrate the end of the year together!
Alumni Class of 2014
Students from the CM2 class of 2014 visited campus yesterday. It was great to visit, wish them well as they move on to college, and celebrate their successes built on the foundation received at AIS.
Thank you, PTO!
We have lots to be thankful for this week! Our PTO purchased ice cream for all our students on the last day of school plus treated our faculty and staff to a delicious lunch today in appreciation for all their hard work throughout the year. Thank you, parent community, and thank you to our 2020-2021 PTO leadership: Holly Johnson, Mike Cook, Ashley Wigley!

HOS eCommuniqué: A Farewell to Colleagues. A Farewell to Friends.
The start of each new school year brings new people into our lives--people we will remember for a lifetime. The end of each school year means that some of our friends will be moving on to new adventures, near and far. In this week's Head of School eCommuniqué, Jacques shares his thanks to several colleagues who will be moving on to new adventures after their many years of service at AIS. Merci, gracias, and thank you to you all for your invaluable contributions to the AIS Community. We look forward to crossing paths again!
Goodbye from Ms. Emily
Dear AIS Community,
Thank you for the overwhelming support you’ve shown me over the past few weeks. It has been an emotional time and a process of “letting go” and saying goodbye little by little. I have been so happy at AIS, working with the teachers, administration, you, and your children. I’ve learned so much during my time here, and I am glad to have had the opportunity to work with each of you. I would truly love to keep in touch, and my personal email address is firstname.lastname@example.org if you’d like to stay in contact as well. I wish you all a wonderful summer, and I’ll be seeing you next year at several AIS school events!
