Who Do You Say I Am?

Jesus as a Companion

The Loving Lord

To successfully survive in today's modern world, you need to be educated, healthy and socially capable. I think Jesus is helping me fulfill each task as a teacher, healer, and friend Himself. As a young child attending children's liturgy, I heard stories of Jesus giving sermons to large groups, healing people of various diseases and creating loving relationships with disciples and other people He met. I quickly established Jesus as someone I could have a personal relationship with because of how He treated others. I realize that Jesus acted as a teacher by living His life like a role model. His did this by standing up for the persecuted, questioned the corrupt, and helped the outcasts. He both physically and mentally healed as well by confirming their faith and blessing them. Jesus was also a friend by being someone who sacrificed for others by giving us the greatest gift of all.

Peter as the Rock

By Jesus calling Peter the foundation of His faith community. He rewards Peter in his Faith and knows that even though it is early, Peter's faith is strong. (Senior 1366).

Exodus 4:15

You are to speak to him and put the words in his mouth; and I, even I, will be with your mouth and his mouth, and I will teach you what you are to do.

John 15:13-14

No one has greater love than this, to lay down one's life for one's friends. You are my friends if you do what I command you.
