"Be Committed, Be Consistent, Be Courageous"
You Touch Lives
Hello Phoenix Nation,
This week, all we have to say is THANK YOU. Thank you to teachers, resident teachers, and TAs, interventionists, counselors, support staff, and everyone who supports our school. We appreciate all of you and would like to thank you for everything that you do for scholars, parents, the community, and us. You guys give us so much! We count on you for a boost of confidence when we really need one. You give us extra help when we are having trouble. You are a welcoming presence when everything else seems out of control. And though we know we cannot ever thank you enough, we would like to take a moment to share our appreciation for all of you, the entire Phoenix Nation. Every day in our school, you touch the lives of hundreds of children, and their work and your impact extend far beyond the boundaries of the classroom or the school or Zoom. “One book, one pen, one child, and one teacher can change the world.” – Malala Yousafzai
Wishing you health, love, and peace of mind,
Priscilla, Chataqua, Chrissy, and Jabez

Comprehensive Needs Assessment: As we continue to plan for next school year, we need your help to develop our Comprehensive Needs Assessment. This document is required for all schools and help us develop our strategic priorities and our budget for the upcoming school year. Each grade level/department will be responsible for one or more areas for the assessment. Please review the attached list and work with your team to complete your section by May 18th. Your grade level dean will lead this process for your team.
Wellness Calls: Make wellness calls to unengaged or struggling families and share the names of any vulnerable or struggling families with Kelsi.
Final Grades: Friday, May 15th is the deadline for grades. As a reminder, all scholars will be given a letter grade based on their numerical grade in PowerSchool. Each scholar should get one grade for each class based on the participation and work submission. Please refer to grading policy that was given to you by your dean.
Here are the ranges that will be followed:
- E (86-100)
- S (70-85)
- N (51-69)
- I (50 or below)
Please make sure you meet the May 15th deadline.
Last week of scholar work FLEX WEEKS! The weeks of 5/11/2020 is the last week of scholar work “FLEX WEEKS”. The deadline to accept scholar work is May 13th. All Grades will be finalized May 15th.
EOY Celebrations: Plan for grade level scholar celebrations with your team. Activities should be fun and engaging. Let’s get as many scholars online as possible.
Scholar Work: Encourage scholars to submit any outstanding work to you. Reach out to the parents of scholars who are in danger of getting an N or I to give them one more reminder.
EOY Scholar Awards: EOY Scholar Award Ceremonies should take place virtually the last week of school. Be sure to invite the scholars and their families to attend before the ceremony.
