ABIS 8th Grade Field Trip to Washington DC
The 8th grade has a blast on the annual trip to Washington DC. Students explored the Air and Space Museum and took pictures in front of the White House and the US Capitol Building. 8th graders also paid their respects to fallen soldiers and their families at Arlington National Cemetery while also visiting JFK’s grave site and watching the Changing of the Guard Ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. Before heading home, they visited the Vietnam, Korea, Lincoln, Washington, Martin Luther King Jr. and Jefferson memorials as well as spending some time in the National Holocaust museum. Students had some down time and ate a ton of food, snacks, and Starbucks. We look forward to our next trip to DC in 2024!
5th Graders Transported to Hogwarts!
To culminate a successful year, the fifth graders participated in a Harry Potter Day! For the morning rotations, students took part in curriculum based hands-on activities, such as potion writing, experimenting with color changing potions, and even attending a Death Day Party as an invented ghost. The afternoon was filled with an energetic Quidditch Tournament! The fifth grade teachers were thrilled to provide this fun activity for their students to cap off their first year at ABIS!
