2001-2005
Three Early Computers
In 2001 Apple revealed the Mac OS X operating system. It provides many benefits such as pre-emptive multi-tasking and fortified memory protection. In the same year Microsoft unveiled the Windows XP. On December 17, 2003, the Linux kernel version 2.6.0 was released. Apple introduced the Mac OS X Tiger, version 10.4, on April 29, 2005.
2006-2009
Three More Computers
Apple created the MacBook Pro in 2006. It was an intel-based, dual-core laptop. Then, on January 30, 2007, Microsoft released the Windows Vista. In 2009, Microsoft launched Windows 7, which held advances to handwriting and touch recognition and an updated task bar, among other features.
2010-2014
Even More Computers!
Acer and Samsung released the first Chromebooks on June 15, 2011. On October 26, 2012, Microsoft released Windows 8.
