My name is Whitney Evans.
I’ve taught Mathematics for the last 9 years. This year I am a learning coach so I love that I get to work with almost every single middle school student!
I have a husband and 2 dogs.

Her Eyes
One day a girl named Clare Heaventon was born. She was like any other human being newborn. A lot of yelling and screaming mostly from her mother. When Clare's mother and father saw her, they loved her at first sight, "The most beautiful girl born." They would say, but when Clare opened her eyes, that's when everything changed. Even the doctors hated her, god might even hate her for the way she looks.
Fast forward 7 years into the future, she's coming home, to her unsafe house. She opened the door and quietly went into her room, not wanting to deal with more yelling. She got enough of that at school because of the way her eyes look. Before she could make it up to her room, her father stopped her, "Clare!" he yelled looking at her, "Why did I have a daughter like you!?" He yelled again, "I Don't Want To Live With This Family Anymore!" He said as he called someone and walked out.
Clare stood there, just staring at her father standing at the curb. Soon a black car pulled up and he got in. She turned back around and faced her mother who was sitting on the couch, holding her cheek and crying, "What did he do this time Mother?" Clare asked as she dropped her bag and ran to her, "H-Hit me." she said through tears, still rubbing her cheek, "It's okay, Mother." Clare got up and got an ice pack, as she gave it to her mom, Feinoa, she said, "He's gone and should be gone forever." Her mother nodded and held the pack to her cheek.
"Mind making dinner?" Feinoa asked quietly and Clare nodded, "Yeah, I don't want you to move the ice pack." Clare stood up and went into the kitchen to make dinner. She got out some bread, eggs, and bacon. She cracked the eggs into a pan, put the bread into a toaster, and the bacon into another pan. She took the eggs out of the pan and put one on her and the other on Feinoa's plate, the same with the bacon, toast, butter and sugar on hers and just butter on her mother's, "Here you go, Mom," Clare said quietly as she handed her mom a plate of food.
Let's fast forward a bit into the future, into that night. As Clare got out of the shower she looked at herself in the mirror, disliking the way she looked too. She had a pale skin color and she was curvy in all the right spots, she had freckles from going outside in the summer a lot, her lips, the perfect pink color, but her eyes. Her eyes were a dark, blood-like red color with the only other colors being white and black. She shuddered and got her clothes, putting them on and going to lay down.

Fiction Horror: I Don't Believe In The Boogeyman
I don't believe in the Boogeyman. The Boogeyman doesn't have sharp teeth that curl out of his mouth and down his face. He doesn't sharpen his fangs on rocks to make sure they slice better. His teeth don't tear.
The Boogeyman doesn't have dirty, black claws that creep out your window. He doesn't have nails that can pierce the heart of anything. His claws don't leave marks.
The Boogeyman doesn't have a spine chilling chuckle. His voice can't paralyze a man in his steps. We can handle the Boogeyman's voice. His laugh doesn't terrify us.
The Boogeyman doesn't follow us in the dark. He doesn't have the skills to stay quiet and prey upon us. There are other creatures like that. His skills don't snatch us.
I don't believe in the Boogeyman. There are other monsters to fear. Like the one in your closet, the one under your bed. But I don't look outside my window.
He has teeth that curl out of his mouth. He has claws that can pierce any heart. He has a voice that can paralyze anyone. He has the skills to snatch us.
I don't believe in the Boogeyman. But I believe in him.
