BMS Principal Update
March 21, 2023
Message from the principal
It's hard to believe that we only have 8 days until Spring Break and 41 days until summer vacation. Students have been working hard, and it's showing in the progress that they are making in their coursework. A huge thank you to all of the parents. At BMS, we realize that educating a child is a collaboration between home and school. Without your support, it would be impossible to make the strides that we have made.
Please read this newsletter to find out about upcoming events and important things to know. As always, if you need anything please reach out to my office.

Goodyear STEM Career Day

8th Grade Hale Farm Field Trip
8th grade students will be traveling to Hale Farm on Friday. The weather is quite unpredictable so we are asking that students dress prepared for the weather. They will need to have a coat and appropriate shoes. A huge shout out to Ms. Carson, the 7th/8th grade social studies teacher who organized this event. This is sure to be a great, educational time for students!

BMS My Future Day
On March 30th, 6-8th grade students will have the opportunity to explore different careers. There will be presenters from diverse areas sharing their expertise. This will take place during Raven Pride Time (RPT) in the gymnasium. If you have a career that you would love to share with students, it's not too late to participate. Feel free to reach out to Mrs. Burwell at catrina.burwell@ravennaschools.us

Ohio State Testing
When we return from Spring Break, we will begin administering the Ohio State Test. Please remind your kids to eat a good breakfast and get a good night's rest. We are excited for testing this year because we know that we are going to make great gains. It's time for the kids to show what they know!!! We have confidence in them.
Testing dates are as follows:
ELA 4/12 and 4/13 (grades: 5-8)
Math 4/25 and 4/26 (grades: 5-8)
Science 5/2 and 5/3 (grades: 5 and 8 only)

Chromebook Collection
With testing coming up when we return from Spring Break, we are going to collect all school issued chromebooks. This will give our tech department time to update computers and ensure that they are ready for state testing. We will begin collecting chromebooks on Thursday. Please make sure your child brings both their chromebook and charger with them to school on Thursday. We appreciate your support with this.
