Preceptor Professional Development
Hosted by the Tucson Dietetic Internship Programs
YOU'RE INVITED!
The Tucson area Dietetic Internship Programs are teaming up to offer an afternoon of FREE professional development and networking for preceptors.
Working with dietetic interns can be a highly valuable and rewarding experience; however, it can also be challenging. Interns have varying degrees of knowledge and experience, as well as very different personalities, values and soft skills. Strength-based mentoring is a practice which leverages the talents, knowledge, and skills of the mentor and mentee to drive learning and advancement.
At this workshop, attendees will dig deep into the strengths-based approach to mentoring and explore effective strategies for guiding dietetic interns. The focus will be on communication, feedback, and optimizing professional performance.
This workshop will be facilitated by Mary Cantor, Leadership Programs Coordinator from the Office of Student Engagement & Career Development at the University of Arizona. The event is hosted by the dietetic internship (DI) coordinators and directors for St. Mary’s DI, The University of Arizona ISPP, and Tucson Medical Center's DI.
