Returning Student Materials
The traffic pattern will be the same - please drive around the back of Magee to drop off at the back doors of the building.
If you have questions please contact Mrs. Sterner (sterners@kmsd.edu) or Mrs. Doome (doomeb@kmsd.edu).
Apart Together
While we did not ask for this time at home; as a Magee community we worked together to make the best of the experience for our learners. Think back to Friday, March 13 when we all left school not really knowing what would happen. Together we have learned Zoom, Google Meet, Screencastify, how to use our calendars, how to use emails, increased our use of SeeSaw to include more than showcasing great work, and so much more. While we all know and value the face to face time with our learners and know they miss each other as much as we miss them and you miss having them at school - it is important to look for the silver-linings of the time at home learning and just plain being at home. The list of changes is long, whether it is at home, school, or in our world.
I will continue to have lunch bunches over the summer for us to keep in touch. Maybe even at Magee sometime this summer if we can!
I will not be continuing this newsletter every week, most likely every 2-3 weeks to keep you updated on progress as we move toward fall.
Fifth Grade Drive Thru Send Off Celebration
And while we would love to have everyone there, we simply cannot and do it safely given our location and size. Please know we have thought about this A LOT!
Following guidelines and restrictions in place, June 3 will be reserved ONLY for fifth graders and their families IN CARS, and staff members offering congratulations, waves, and a few surprises.
Thank you for your understanding!
Math
Yikes!
Here's how the story goes...
At Home Learning
This will be our last full week of At Home Learning - AND WE DID IT TOGETHER!
Teachers will be reaching out to learners and families to set up 1:1 meetings for June 8, 9, and 10. (Some days may fluctuate.) As a staff we feel it is very important to have this time with each learner/family to close out this year and celebrate the successes and growth!
Certainly if you have feedback regarding this time and would like to share with Mrs. Sterner, please feel free to email and we can set up an appointment.
Thank you - have a great week!

From The Health Room
Student items stored in the health room will be distributed back to you on May 18 and 19. If you need something prior to those dates, please contact Mrs. Pick or Mrs. Cowell.
We hope you and your families are staying safe during this outbreak of respiratory disease caused by COVID -19 across the world. It's important to remain supportive of each other, and realize that all individuals can minimize the chances of spreading coronavirus by washing hands often, staying home when sick, and covering any coughing or sneezing with a tissue. The CDC does recommend wearing a mask or face covering in a public setting as many people do not know they have the disease; the mask protects people from becoming exposed to COVID -19 as the virus can linger in the air longer than they originally thought.
Please remember that KM outdoor facilities as well as playgrounds are closed and not available for use during this time as an additional means of stopping the spread of the virus. Anyone who becomes sick with symptoms more severe than an ordinary cold is advised to seek medical care. Please know that our Health Services Webpage has information you may find helpful and that KM is here to support you!
Wishing you healthy days ahead as we are hopefully on the road to recovery in our communities. Please inform the Health Room staff via email if your child has been exposed to or have been tested for COVID-19 as we continue to track illnesses in our community. We are here to help.
Take care, and wash your hands!

Lunch For ALL Families
There have been some additional questions regarding KMSD Lunches - FREE lunches are available for ALL CHILDREN 18 and UNDER in a household.
Thank you for your cooperation with this!
If you have questions, please email KMSD Director of Nutrition Services, Joe Claas at claasj@kmsd.edu.
Student KMSD Email Accounts
A reminder that student email accounts should be used for KMSD educational purposes only.
PLEASE NOTE THIS ALSO APPLIES TO EMAIL AND CHAT FEATURES. Students should only be in supervised Google Meets and should not be using the school network for anything but educational purposes. PLEASE check your child's "footprint" on their computers occasionally.
They should not be used to sign up for other social media or online activities such as Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, etc. Although most of our students are too young for the requirements of these platforms, it does happen. If you wish to sign your child up, you would need to create a different email account not associated with KMSD. Please let me know if you have any questions.
Misuse of the network or technology can lead to losing the priviledge of use.
