The R. Grant Graham Star Reporter
February 19, 2020
From the Principal
Dear Graham Families:
It was wonderful to see the students in school this week! I sure do miss seeing them each day!
All students who returned to in person learning on 2/18 are now registered to use Clear to Go. This is the health screening that needs to be done prior to coming to school each day. Please see the infographic below regarding how to access. You must fill this out every morning for your student to be able to enter the building. Please reach out to the office with any questions. I noticed many students did not have it fill it out. It must be filled out before they come to school each day.
Packet/Class Materials pick up will be on Wednesdays only. The school will be closed during school hours on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.
Throughout the month of February each class will be celebrating Black History Month. The students will be learning about famous African-Americans and their contributions to society.
As always, thank you for your patience and understanding during the pandemic.
Remember, it takes a village to raise our children.

Updated K-12 School Opening Guidance
New guidance has been issued by the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) with support from the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy (EGLE); the Michigan Occupational Safety and Health Administration (MIOSHA); and the Michigan Department of Education (MDE) for schools to keep students, staff, and communities safe during the COVID-19 pandemic while providing the in-person instruction that is crucial to learning and development.
* To access all COVID-19 Updates, go to the MDE website at www.michigan.gov/mde.
ATTENTION PARENTS OF ESL STUDENTS
SOME English Learners at Graham Elementary are eligible for an additional web based educational program, new to Avondale, called Imagine Learning Language & Literacy. Limited spaces are available, so eligibility is based on WIDA and NWEA scores, in addition to other factors. Please check the email address you provided to the school to see if this applies to your student(s). If you have questions, email Frances.email@example.com

WE NEED your HELP WITH our YEARBOOK!
We need your help! With the school year starting off remotely (and now continuing remotely), we have no fun photos of our students to include in the 2020-2021 yearbook. We still want to have fun memories of this school year that include our amazing students! It would also be a great way to include pictures of your children if you were not able to attend Picture Day.
Please feel free to email a copy of the photo to Gretchen.Dietz@AvondaleSchools.org with your child's name and which grade or group you would like the picture to be added.
Thank you for helping to create memories!
