Principal's Message
Parent/Teacher Conferences have been going on at OTES for several weeks. With so many teachers and families, it is difficult to choose one or two nights to conduct conferences, so our teachers find times to meet with you at convenient times to talk about your child. Our PE teacher Lisa Beaulieu will be available to meet with parents on October 21-23 from 2:30-4:30 for a parent-teacher conference. Should you not be able to make any of those times please email or call her to schedule a time and day that works best for you. Email: lisa.beaulieu@rsu34.org Phone: 827-1544 ext. 312
K-Kids: The K-Kids have been meeting on every Thursday and starting to build some great school activities. A few activities include organizing our Lost and Found so items can be reclaimed, the School Store starting October 25th is open each Friday with various items to purchase and our Safety Team which will assist the younger students in our school get to their classrooms safely. The schedules will be handed out at our weekly meeting this week and come home so you can help them with a reminder about their jobs. This is a wonderful group of kids!!!!
Safety Team Next week: Avery Mitchell, Cooper Boutot, Stella McKay, Kylee Lawson
School Store October 25 Workers: Jordyn Larrabee, Ella Davis, Kayleigh Trudel, Lily Heitman
Halloween: Many new parents ask if we have Halloween celebrations at OTES. We tend to stay focused on our academics and usually try to weave in activities that celebrate the seasons rather than emphasize Halloween. We do not allow the students to wear costumes to school because the students have a difficult time playing on the playground and staying focused on their learning with masks and capes. We do want parents to know about an opportunity on Halloween Night sponsored by the Key Club at OTHS. There will be a TRUNK OR TREAT on Halloween Night from 5:30 to 7:30 in the lower parking lot at the high school.
Thank you to the GREEN COMMUNITY Students and Staff : The students and staff in the GREEN COMMUNITY started their morning cleaning up the playground, planting bulbs for spring, and enjoying the gardens at OTES. We are lucky to have just wonderful children and teachers taking care of our property.
October 25: Diversity Potluck: Come join us on Thursday night for some food and celebration of different cultures. 6 pm to 7 pm. October 26th: We are having an official Fall Clean Up at OTES from 9 am to 12. If you'd like to join us, feel free!
Emailing the Teacher about an absence or appointments: We appreciate parents emailing the teacher about an upcoming absence or notifying about an illness. Please include Deb Letourneau in the email loop to note that absence or change in the office. This will avoid an unnecessary call home. Deborah.Letourneau@rsu34.org
