We also enjoyed the Book Exchange on Wednesday. Your child brought home five books which are meant to keep.
During Reader's Workshop time we continue to read books on our level. We also "shop" for books. We always start our time off with a mini lesson and we end our time with our chapter book. We finished Magic Tree House and we have started a Junie B Jones book. I think we all agree that we prefer Magic Tree House. I love exposing them to these new books!
We spent math time this week adding to 5. We use objects in our solving. Sometimes unifix cubes, sometimes beans or other touchable objects to help see the process. We are also referring to key words in addition, such as altogether or in all. PLEASE remember to make use of the online math and reading subscriptions which I have shared with you. Each child was given passwords. Lawrence Township pays for these subscriptions to help the children reinforce skills learned. I encourage the children to spend 10-15 minutes each day taking advantage of these tools.
Please send in the following: empty soda bottles, halo farm half gallon containers and egg containers. We will need them.
Have a great weekend. Fourteen more days until spring!
