Cougar Pulse
June 2021
Dear Families,
Three days of school to go! It's been one wild ride to say the least, but we're finishing up the 20-21 school year on some high notes. I'm so proud of our students for everything they've accomplished through the year, their resiliency and perseverance, and the positive attitudes they've brought with them to school each day. I'm so thankful for our families who have been supportive through all of the challenges of CDL, hybrid, and transitioning to in-person instruction. And I'm so happy to get to work with the educators I work with at The Creek, who have shown nothing but determination and grit all year, rolling with every punch thrown at them, and showing up to give our students the best possible education and learning environment they could provide. Every stakeholder deserves recognition for their work this year.
Each June the one hard thing about ending a school year is losing staff members to retirement and changing positions, and our students who are moving on to LHS. This year we have a number of staff leaving, and while we're happy for them and excited for their new adventures ahead, they'll be missed tremendously at Hamilton Creek School.
Julia Wegner (4th grade) - new Dean of Student Success and other district roles, Lacomb
Sarah Donohue (2nd/3rd grade) - moving to Sacramento
Nick Chapman (Middle School) - new Assistant Principal in Brookings Harbor
Evan Brammer (Middle School)
Sarah Hudson (Counselor) - new position at an elementary school very close to home
Jan Miller (Library) - Jan is retiring after 32 years serving Hamilton Creek students and families.
If you get the chance, thank these wonderful humans and wish them luck. As we get closer to the beginning of the 21-22 school year I'll send an update on all of the new staff we'll be bringing on board to join The Creek family.
We're also sending off our high school graduating class of 2025 as they continue life's journey away from Hamilton Creek, some for the first time, having been Cougars since Kindergarten. I'm excited for these outgoing 8th graders and for the years ahead. They've worked through so much adversity this year (and last), but have continued to impress right up to the very end of their time with us. We know bright days are ahead and are looking forward to hearing about all of their successes down the road!
I hope you and your family have a fun Summer and get some rest, and we'll see many of you at the start of the 21-22 school year. Happy Summer!
Sincerely,
Jordon Ford
Principal
