Instructional Focus:
I read the following brief article recently and I found it very interesting. It states that in the typical "Reading Workshop" structure teacher prioritize independent work that will keep students quiet. While this is a great goal, it doesn't guarantee learning. Check out the following brief, research-based article for guidance on how to select meaningful, engaging activities for your literacy block (Plus the author is from ASU-yay!)
New Leadership Format....
Leadership Positions (remember the activities are examples at this point and I am open for ideas)
If you are interested in joining the leadership team for next year, please submit the application (electronic or hard copy) to Robert by 4/12.
Dad's Club Golf Tournament....
This is their main fundraiser for the year, and please note that they were very generous with clearing out the "Take Note" board earlier this year (it cost about $1,700).
They will be having a "Hole in One" bonus on each of the par 3's this year, and would like some staff members to attend. If you are available to stop by for an hour, please send me an email.
Lastly, we can definitely help them out by passing along this flyer to your families.
Online Print Shop...
Using the link below, you are able to digitally upload something to be printed at the Print Shop. This should save a lot of time and the hassle of filling out all the papers for things that you know you are going to want done.
