The Buzz at Westbrook School

From the Principal...

December 3rd, 2021

Dear Westbrook Families,

I hope everyone had a happy and healthy Thanksgiving break. I am so thankful to everyone who participated in parent-teacher conferences over the past few weeks. It was wonderful to see so many families in the building, meeting with teachers and visiting the PTO Scholastic book fair. I am grateful to the fantastic Westbrook staff who worked long hours and organized information to share with families. I also want to thank the PTO again for the delicious meals provided to the Westbrook staff on all three nights of conferences. I continue to be amazed at the generosity of our families and community.

It is hard to believe we only have two weeks until our next holiday break. I want to remind parents that as the weather is cooler, it is essential that students dress appropriately for recess. We go outside unless the "feels like" temperature is 15 degrees or lower, so students must have warm clothes. The students enjoy the cooler snowy days when they wear boots, snow pants, hats, and gloves. Please write your child’s last name on a tag in their coat, so they do not get lost.

As always, please feel free to reach out to me with any questions or concerns.

For your children,

Danielle Crandall

Note from the Nurse: COVID-19 Vaccination Card Information

Dear Parents,

District 57 offers families the opportunity to voluntarily provide their child’s COVID-19 vaccination status. This information is important to have on file as students who are fully vaccinated (2 weeks post 2nd dose) do not need to quarantine if identified as a close contact (per IDPH guidelines) and remain asymptomatic. We are asking parents to send a copy of their child's Covid vaccination card to the health office after their child receives their second dose.

Thank you,

Julie Tworek, RN

Items in the Lost and Found will be donated after Winter Break

Please come to the office to sign in if you would like to check the Lost and Found.

Lost and Found is located near the gym.

A friendly reminder to label all items your child brings to school. We try to reunite lost items with their owners before they are placed in the Lost and Found.
