BOOK FAIR

We are excited to announce that we will be having an in-person Book Fair beginning Monday, December 6th and ending Friday, December 10th. Parents and students are invited to come in and shop our Book Fair during our open hours (see schedule below). Our Family Night will be held on Tuesday, December 7th, where the Book Fair will stay open until 7:00 p.m.

  • Monday, Dec. 6th - 7:30 am - 3:30 pm
  • Tuesday, Dec. 7th - 7:30 am - 7:00 pm (Family Night)
  • Wednesday, Dec. 8th - 7:30 am - 3:30 pm
  • Thursday, Dec. 9th - 7:30 am - 3:30 pm
  • Friday, Dec. 10th - 7:30 am - 11:00 am

Students will have an opportunity to go with his/her class during this week. This is also a great time to purchase gifts for the holidays. Please note that the supply chain issues are also affecting our Book Fair. There may be some books that sell out quickly and cannot be restocked due to the shortages. We apologize in advance for the inconvenience.

BOOK FAIR VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

We need volunteers for our fall Book Fair during the week of December 6th - 10th. If you are interested in volunteering, please email Jessica DeVerse at jdeverse@conroeisd.net.

FOOD DRIVE

For the months of November and December we are talking about being thankful. Our character trait is GRATITUDE. Gratitude helps our students feel positive emotions, improve their mental health, deal with adversity, and build strong relationships with others and the community. We will be learning about ways to help others, things we are thankful for, and spreading kindness. We will also be encouraging the students to stop and think of things they are grateful for throughout the day.

A food drive will be held here at David Elementary November 15 - December 3. Please send in non-perishable food items with your child at any time during those two weeks. All items will be going directly to members of our community. Please see the attached flyer for more information.

FOURTH GRADE FIELD TRIP

The fourth grade field trip to the Sam Houston Museum will be held on Thursday, November 18th. Due to the limited amount of space in the museum, only teachers and one room parent per class will chaperone.

LUNCH SIGN UP LINK FOR NOVEMBER 15TH - DECEMBER 10TH

A link is listed below for parents to sign up to have lunch with his/her child. We are still only allowing one parent, per child for this three week period; however, if you came during the first or second three week period, you are allowed to sign up for a time during this next three week period. Due to limited space, we will only be able to allow one parent per day, per student, for a total of 8 per grade level.

Just a few reminders:

  • One parent, per child during each three week period
  • Parents, please bring your own lunch -- Your child can still purchase from the cafeteria
  • You may bring an outside lunch for your child, but just remind him/her not to order from the cafeteria
  • Bring your driver's license for check-in

STAFF APPRECIATION LUNCH

The teachers and staff enjoyed a luncheon from Panera Bread provided by our Third Grade Parents. It is not too late to donate to offset the cost of this luncheon. You can still log onto the Membership Toolkit Store and select Grade Level Sponsored Lunch to donate. Thank you for your continued support of our David Staff.

SPIRIT STICKS

What are Spirit Sticks? Spirit Sticks are small embroidered key tags that can be worn on a ring on a backpack, lunch box, etc. Some are used as a fun student reward or kids collect them. Parents may also purchase additional Spirit Sticks or key rings on the Membership Toolkit site. Please see the flyer below for more information or click on the link below to order yours now.
