Clubs TOMORROW!!!
Hello Wiley TEK Club Parents,
We are very excited to see your children next Tuesday, October 12th! Clubs run October 12th and end on November 23rd (skipping November 2nd). Please read carefully the below procedures for clubs:
- At the end of the school day, your child will go to the bus dismissal room for their grade level. All homeroom teachers will have a list of their students attending clubs and can help guide them to the correct room as they are dismissed. They will wait there until called to report to their club room.
- At 4:10, an announcement will be made for all TEK club children to leave their classrooms and go directly to their club room. A TEK manager will be present to check-in students once they arrive in their club classrooms and to help them find classrooms if assistance is needed.
Chess Club - Art Room - #3102
STEM Club - Mr. Murray's room #1302
Crafty Creators Club - Mrs. Berwanger's room #1108c
- TEK Club dismissal will begin at 5:30 in the carpool loop. Parents may pull up to the loop to enter the carpool line and we will send students out to cars as we call their names. In order to limit any confusion, please do not enter the school doors. We will have all of the club children waiting, separated by their clubs, in the hallways near the door. They will be spread out so as to not mix any of the clubs together. We apologize in advance if this causes any delays in our dismissal process. If you are picking up a walker you may park and walk up to check out your student.
- Students may bring a snack from home. Club teachers will allow students to eat their snack once they arrive for check-in at 4:10. TEK does not provide a snack, please don't forget to pack an extra one.
- YMCA after-school students will be sent back to the YMCA after-school program unless parents indicated on the registration form that they will be dismissed through the TEK carpool.
If your child is going to be absent from a club, we would appreciate a quick email/text to let us know. Our number one concern is your child's safety. If they do not check into clubs, and you have not given us prior notice, we will be contacting you. During clubs, the easiest way to reach me is via text (919-612-2982)
Please let me know if you have any questions. We are looking forward to seeing your children next Tuesday!

Student Illness:
If a student is sent home with symptoms of covid, please follow the when to return guidance listed on the WCPSS website. Students may not return without a negative covid test, an alternate diagnosis, or before the assigned quarantine period. Students living in the same home as someone with covid must follow the quarantine guidance even if the student tests negative. Please send the appropriate documentation to the student's homeroom teacher before returning to school.
Welcome Dr. Branch!
News from our Wiley PTA
FIFTH GRADE SOCK DRIVE
For the month of October, our 5th graders will be holding a sock drive. The 5th grade team and I were wondering if something could be shared with parents asking for donations of new socks, any size (adult and/or children.) Each grade level will be given a brown paper bag to collect socks in. Each grade level's bag will be placed in a central location for students to drop off their donations. A team of 5th graders will come by daily to collect what's in the bag and make note of how many socks have been collected. There will be a reward for the grade level that collects the most socks.
If there are any questions, families are welcome to contact Claire Sullivan at csullivan@wcpss.net
