Update on Yoko's Surgery
Friends,
On behalf of my family, I want to thank you for your faithful prayers for my mom. She told me on several occasions that she felt the powerful prayers of all who have been praying for her.
I'd like to give you an update on her surgery. I've received this info from my father, as none of us are able to be at the hospital in person. They began the surgery, but after getting a first hand look at the size and the location of the tumor, the doctor realized that he would not be able to complete the surgery today. As I understand it, the tumor was larger and located close to some major blood vessel. Plan B is to begin chemotherapy in January with hopes that it will shrink the tumor. Then, perhaps, at a later date, they will be able to perform the surgery as originally intended. She will be at the UCI medical center for 5 days to recuperate because this surgery was pretty invasive.
We are disappointed at this latest development, but I look to my mom as an example of a person who is "anxious for nothing" (Phi 4:6) and "trusts in the Lord with all her heart" (Prov 3:5) so she has an otherworldly peace (John 14:27) and the "peace that passes all understanding" (Phi 4:8). Despite this latest setback, I have no doubt that she continues to have the same joy and peace as she did prior to this.
Some of you have asked if there was anything you could do for my dad or our family. The only thing we would ask is that you continue to pray. Feel free to pass this email or information to anyone who might be interested.
We love you guys a lot!
Kevin
We regret to inform you that RSVPs are now closed.
Luke 2:10-11 "But the angel said to them, 'Do not be afraid. I bring you Good News that will cause great Joy for all the people.'"
Great Joy was brought for more than just the shepherds that one glorious night.
It was a promise offered to all people, for all languages,
and all generations... that includes you and me!
What was the angel's good news?!
"For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ our Lord!"
This is Good News that must be heard! It's a Joy for every day, not just the day you put your trust in it. How do we keep Jesus & Me a Joyful delight?
Please join us for...
