Cape's Mission & Vision

Mission: To provide a safe and supportive learning community where every student experiences success.

Vision: We believe that the most promising strategy for achieving the mission of Cape Elementary is to develop our capacity to function as a professional learning community.

Message from Ms. Osterholm and Mrs. Sund

Dear Cape Families,

April was a wonderful month at Cape Elementary. We had an excellent turnout for our PTO Spring Fling. Thanks to everyone who attended.

Our Quarter 3 SOAR celebration was a HUGE success with 92% of Cape students attending. Students who reached their behavior and reading goals celebrated by playing on bounce houses, obstacle courses, and Game Guys Video Truck. Special thank you to PTO for funding the SOAR Celebration for our students.

The next three weeks we will have state testing in all grades. Please look in our newsletter for specific dates and grades. Our students have worked so hard this year and persevered through so much. This is their time to shine and show what they have learned.

Please make sure your children are:

  • well rested

  • fed a nutritious breakfast

  • sent off with love, smiles and hugs

  • at school each day by 7:45

Mark your calendars now: May 1 through May 5 is Staff Appreciation Week at Cape Elementary. Please take a few minutes to thank a teacher or staff member during this week. We have special treats and activities planned for our staff all week. Special thanks to Jim Fischer - Century 21 Sunbelt Realty, Metro Diner, Greek Spot, Cape Vineyards Community Church and our awesome PTO for your donations. If you would like to donate to our treats and/or $10 gift cards to raffle off to staff members throughout the week, please email us at NicoleDO@leeschools.net or drop off at Cape’s front office. Thanks to the families who already donated gift cards! We appreciate your help and support in showing our love and appreciation for our hardworking staff.

Cape will have Celebrations of Learning, end of year awards ceremonies, for Kindergarten to 4th grade and 5th Grade will have a Completion Ceremony. Please look for dates and times in this newsletter and on our website for specific times and mark your calendars now.

Cape Elementary is a special place to work. We are honored to be the leaders of this great school! Please continue to contact us via email or phone call when you have a concern, question or comment!

Sincerely,

Ms. Osterholm and Mrs. Sund
