End of the year - Early Release June 22nd

As we close out the 2020/2021 school year, I'd like to take a second to thank you, the families, for supporting me in my first year as principal. I have enjoyed getting to know you and your student, even if it took a bit longer because of masks. I'm very excited for next year and the opportunities we will have to get back to the ways we are used to celebrating our community; the smiles, the handshakes, and the vibrant conversations, all of them are going to feel great to get back to.

Students will be dismissed at 12:30pm on Tuesday, June 22nd, the last day of school. We look forward to some rest and relaxation this summer as a WHS Community, but remind you that if you need assistance, please don't hesitate to call me in the main office (617-926-7760). I'm happy to answer any questions or point you in the right direction if I don't have an answer :-)

Award Ceremony - Monday, June 21, 2021

We will be hosting an awards ceremony for our students in grades 9-11 on Monday, June 21st. The ceremony will take place at 2:15pm and will be streamed for families over Zoom. The ceremony will last approximately 45 minutes.

Update From Nurse

PHYSICAL EXAM & IMMUNIZATIONS:

All incoming 10th graders must submit a valid physical exam during the first 30 days of the next school year. All students need to have the required meningococcal vaccine/s (MenACWY) – one dose for students younger than 16 years, and two doses for 16 years old or older. One dose is acceptable if you received it at 16 or later.

Those who received a letter in March 2021 and have not submitted the requirements, please do so as soon as possible. You may email the requirements to the school nurse: joie.mara@watertown.k12.ma.us.

MEDICATION/TREATMENT ORDERS:

For those who have at least one medication or treatment in school (e.g. Epipen, Diastat, inhaler, BP assessment), please submit a doctor’s order with your consent (click here for the form). In addition, please submit an accompanying emergency action plan.

  • For anaphylaxis (Epipen), click here.
  • For seizure (Diastat), click here.
  • For asthma (inhaler), click here.
  • For other conditions that require an emergency action plan, please contact the school nurse or your child’s PCP.

OVER-THE-COUNTER (OTC) MEDICATION PERMISSION:

Please submit an OTC Medication Form for the next school year. Click here for the form.

Have a great summer, everyone! Please stay safe and healthy.
