Stormbreaker

by Anthony Horowitz

Alex Rider is pretty sure the police are lying to him. Suuuuuure his uncle died in a car crash. Alex didn’t believe it. After doing some investigating of his own, he finds the car his uncle was driving, riddled with bullet holes. What kind of “accident” does that? Alex’s life is turned upside down. The only father figure Alex has known has been murdered and he finds he never knew the truth about his uncle; he was actually a spy working for British Intelligence’s M16. Alex himself has a gift for sneaking around and discovering things. M16 realizes Alex’s talents and doesn’t want to let him go. The agency gives him a choice - help finish his uncle’s mission or he loses everything he has known. No one would ever suspect a teenage boy as a spy. Or would they??? Alex Rider is a teenage James Bond. - Mary Boyd (Retired librarian - IISD)
