Fourth graders are working on taking notes while reading. In the 4th grade ESL classroom, we are using the Tree-Root Thinking Map to take our notes. After taking notes, we work on writing the TDA (Text Dependent Analysis) using the RACES model.

These letters mean:

R=Restate the Question

A=Answer the Question

C=Cite the evidence from the text

E=Explain what the text evidence means in your own words

S=Summarize by using the information in the R & A

We are excited to announce that our After-School Program through Collaboration for Youth of Adams County, will be starting at the Land of Little Horses in Gettysburg on Monday, October 26th. This program is available for students each week Monday through Thursday. Kids will be kept busy with STEM activities, homework, academic enrichment activities, and physical activities, all while spending time with their friends.

The program is FREE to ALL families regardless of income. After-school programming is available to students when they are scheduled for in-person learning. Virtual options are also available.
