SIXTH GRADE NEWS

SEQUOIA ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

OCTOBER PROGRESS REPORT

Please review your student's progress report tonight, sign it, and give it back to him/her. We would like to see signed progress reports so we can know that you have been updated on their grades. We are currently in the sixth week of the first trimester. Each trimester has 12 weeks, so we are halfway through.

1:1 iPads

Exciting news! If you haven't already heard, we are participating in the Sanger Unified School District's iPad Pilot Project. That means sixth grade will be receiving enough iPads for each sixth grader to use one in the classroom. Although iPads will not be taken home, we are excited about the learning possibilities that have been opened to us as we jump into the 21st century. Students will need to obtain a Digital Learner's License by participating in classroom lessons, answering some review questions, and completing some performance assessments.

CARNIVAL BASKET DONATIONS NEEDED!

Sixth grade desperately needs donations for our Sequoia Carnival gift basket to be raffled off at the carnival. Our sixth grade theme is "Barbecue Time." We need donations of new BBQ-related items such as meat spices, BBQ tools, and anything else that can go in the basket. We don't even have a basket yet. We are begging you to donate a new BBQ-related item for our sixth grade basket as soon as possible. We also encourage students to sell raffle tickets. All donations help to purchase items that benefit all Sequoia students.
