8th Grade Update
October 5, 2018
Dear 8th Grade Families,
Happy Friday! Oops.. I mean Saturday... :)
Hispanic Heritage Month is in full effect! Our annual celebration of Hispanic Heritage has been rescheduled for Tuesday, October 9th at 2pm. It's one of our favorite traditions and features some of our amazing alumni as a part of the Archbishop Carroll Latino Dance Club. All are welcome and encouraged to attend. We hope to see you there!
We're going into a long weekend - a much needed rest for many of us who have been feeling under the weather. This weekend, take time to rest, recover, and take care of yourself. Also, take time to honestly reflect on your own HSPT prep progress. Parents: this weekend is a great time to check in with your child about what they're doing to prepare for the test. Every 8th grader has an HSPT lab journal where we keep our important notes, practice questions, and important information to review. Sit down together and check out what we've been up to in Math and LA. And, of course, time spent on Schoology, Quizlet, and Aleks is always a good idea!
This coming week, 8th grade is hosting our first fundraiser: a Halloween themed Bake Sale! The kids have been hard at work promoting the sale and making beautiful signs. Now it's time to make sure we deliver! Please plan on bringing your most ghostly treats to school this Thursday, October 11th. The more snacks we have to sell, the more money will be in our 8th grade fund at the end of the day. Funds raised will be used for our upcoming Haunted House and class hoodies. Thank you for helping to make this a success! :)
Have a blessed weekend!
Love,
Ms. K
