How does iron function??
Iron makes up part of various proteins needed and found in the body. Our bodies need iron in order to make hemoglobin and myoglobin (which are oxygen-carrying proteins).
Too much iron??
When the body supplies too much iron, Hemochrosis, an iron disorder may occur. This disorder can lead to damage to major organs, joints, and can possibly prove to be fatal. Other things that may be affected in a person due to Hemochrosis is:
- infertility
- diabetes
- depression
- gall bladder disease
Too little iron???
When the human body has too little iron, it is suffering from iron deficiency. Iron deficiency can lead to anemia, and it overall happens in the body when ones body has an increased need for iron, or it has a decreased rate of absorbing iron. Iron deficiency can cause someone to experience:
- Fatigue
- Poor immune system
- decreased activity in the workplace or school
