Questions???
When can we get my child's belongings from the classroom?
We are working as a district to find the best time and way to have families get student materials from the school. When we have a clear plan, we will communicate with families so you can make arrangements.
When will we turn in chromebooks?
We are working as a district to figure out the best time and schedule for the return of all school owned technology. When a full plan is developed, we will communicate with families so you can make arrangements.
What about student work and grades during this time?
As was communicated by the district, we will not be assigning students grades for the 4th quarter. Student work sent in learning packets is intended for practice of skills to keep student's fresh. The work will not be collected or graded. Teachers are reaching out to families weekly to see how learning is going and what help is needed. If you have a concern or question about a task assigned, please talk to your child's teacher. He/She would love to help!
All students have access to iReady Reading AND iReady Math!
Summer School - What's Happening?
Each family should have received an electronic survey that included questions about Summer School interest. This will help to inform the district as they make decisions after guidance is provided by the state.
We anticipate an answer about summer school by April 27th.
The district is creating an online Summer School registration form that will be available soon. When it is available, we will share it. We want students engaged with Summer School is possible and you WILL have a chance to register your student.
PTO Updates
- Due to the uncertain timeline with closures, our PTO is working with Ready Popped to get $10 gift cards for all purchases. This would allow all who purchased to get what they want when they are ready.
- Our PTO will be in touch with those you purchased popcorn when the gift cards are ready and will arrange a curbside pick-up.
2. Wondering about the when your child will receive his/her yearbook? We have a plan!
- when we have students return chromebooks and/or their belongings at school we will distribute yearbooks to those who ordered them.

Grab 'N Go Meals
JC Schools is offering breakfast, lunch AND dinner to students ages 2-18 during the extended school closure.
There are two ways for students to get meals -- Grab 'N Go/Drive-Thru Meals at various school locations OR at bus stops.
For the bus stop option, nine buses will run routes with multiple stops on Monday-Friday. Bus stops are not school specific, but rather designed regionally to include as many high-need areas as possible. The menu will be the same for Grab 'N Go and Bus Stop meals. Please see the flyer linked below for more information.
- First Student drivers will be delivering meals to stops all across the district at designated times between 10:00AM-1:00PM, MON-FRI.
- Families can pick up meals at ANY bus stop, regardless of where your student attends school. Bus stops are not school specific, but rather designed regionally to include as many high-need areas as possible.
- Grab’N’Go Meals will still be available for pick-up MON-FRI from 11:30AM-1:00PM at the eight school locations (East, North, Pioneer Trail, South, and Thorpe elementary schools; and Lewis & Clark and Thomas Jefferson middle schools).
- Federal regulations require that students must be present in order to obtain meals.
- Meals are available for all students, ages 2-18.
