Bathroom Expectations

Please remind your student about our bathroom expectations: Keep the floors clean and dry, not making an unnecessary mess, throwing away paper towels into the trash can. Our building service employees work really hard to keep our building looking awesome, unnecessary messes take them away from being able to keep other areas clean and sanitized.

Its Getting Cold Outside!

As the weather changes, more students will be wearing heavy coats. We ask that all heavy coats be placed in the student's locker during the day. During the day they may wear a light jacket or sweatshirt. All students have been issued a locker, if they do not remember their combination they can get it from their homeroom teacher.

Kleenex Donations

If any families are willing and able, WMS teachers would gladly accept Kleenex donations. You may drop them off in the main office.

Thank you!

Homeroom

Next week in homeroom both grades will have a lesson on Tuesday about how to manage their time. Homerooms will continue to work on their fall door decorating contest sponsored by Student Council.

Need Assistance through our School Social Worker ?

It's hard to believe that the holidays are just around the corner. Some of our Westside families may find they need additional support this holiday season. Please visit the Social Worker Newsletter at https://www.smore.com/x1r27-community-resources for resource options for gifts and meals. You may also reach out to the School Social Worker, Kim Schenkelberg via email or at 402-452-3147.

WE-SIDE COMMUNITY DIALOGUES

We invite you to take part in our WE-SIDE Community Dialogues, with two opportunities to get involved depending on what works best for your schedule:

  • Monday, November 8 at 6:00pm at Westside High School (auditorium)

Come learn more about what WE-SIDE is, what our goals are, and help provide feedback through interactive table-talks on what you’d like to see us pursue as we move forward. Inclusive Communities will be joining us to facilitate discussions on social issues and strategies to create a better sense of belonging for all.

Snacks and water will be provided; several attendees will win gift cards each night! Please mark your calendar and bring a friend to come learn with us and share your experiences.

TAGG

Westside Middle School participates in TAGG. TAGG has a growing list of participating businesses who will donate a portion of what you spend there to our school. WMS uses these funds to help support our school PBIS store and extra supplies teachers need throughout the year.

This is a fast and easy way to help our building without fundraising. Watch this video to see how it works. https://youtu.be/WS2u4s1J63c

Below is a list of business that participate in TAGG. Remember to select Westside Middle School!!
