Bridges Area Learning Center
Weekly Reflections, September 13
Dear Team,
After our students filled into the school last Tuesday one of our veteran students said it best to me, 'I really like all of our new students!' We have a unique experience each year in that about half of the school is new due to our graduates and other students changing circumstances. The newness, opportunity and renewed sense of hope was fresh and abundant as I walked around the school and stopped into your classes and work areas. And, we opened with OVER ONE HUNDRED STUDENTS!! Despite the fullness you all quickly established your rooms as a safe, respectful and engaging places.
Here's to ANOTHER great year at Bridges Area Learning Center. We are definitely off to a great start!

Hooray for the start of the new school year!!
This will be the start of my 8th year at Bridges and my 12th with the district serving as a Chemical Health Counselor. This year will be similar to the last as far as my schedule. I will be at Bridges Monday's and Tuesday's and the HS the rest of the week. I am available to students who are dealing with their own chemical use and also students who are effected by someone else's chemical use/abuse.
As you all know, summer can be difficult for some of our students. Some have been at home with an alcoholic parent who may have unpredictable, erratic behaviors while other students have experienced some tough consequences as a result of their decisions with drug and alcohol. My role here is to connect with those students and provide support and resources.
Some of my best times are here at Bridges, not only with the students but the awesome staff! Each year just keeps getting better and better. I admire the work you all do and I am also here to support you guys anyway I can. Please do not hesitate to come talk to me if you have any questions or concerns. I look forward to another great year!!!!
Welcome Ms. Jenny Witt!!! Bridges Guidance Counselor and Work Program Teacher!
