Scholarship Deadline is April 10!
Any graduating senior in the Greater Kansas City Association of School Librarians’ membership area is eligible. Applicants must have a minimum 3.0 GPA and intend to enroll in college to earn a degree in education.
Access the application here. The completed application accompanied by a cover letter, one letter of recommendation from a teacher, a letter of support from your school librarian, and a statement of support from your parent/guardian must be emailed by midnight, Sunday, April 10, 2016 to: Jaci Hurley jaci.hurley@lsr7.net. This 3-year rotating award is given to an outstanding elementary, middle or high school media program. Awards are presented each May at the annual Spring Banquet. This year we are looking for outstanding nominees at the High School level. Please read the award criteria and instructions below before applying.

Librarian of the Year Award
Submission Deadline: April 1, 2016
The purpose of the Librarian of the Year Award is to recognize a librarian’s distinguished service and leadership in their school library. The librarian will have made a significant impact on the students and staff in his/her school. He/She will have demonstrated a commitment to libraries, especially school libraries, which can serve as a model for others in the profession.

Advocate of the Library Award

Description: The purpose of the Advocate of the Library Award is to recognize a person/persons who support the library media services in an exemplary manner to the point that without the services there would be a void had that service not been rendered.

Gateway Grant Applications are now open. If you would like Gateway books in your library, but do not have the budget, fill out a grant application. At least one grant is awarded every year. Grant winners are announced at Spring Conference.
