Halfway to Freedom
What it was
Freedom Riders were civil rights activist who rode interstate buses into segregated Southern states, to challenge the lack of enforcement of the United States Supreme Court.
What was Successful
At the time it was not considered a win it fueled the 1961 freedom rides the fueled the U.S. civil rights movement.
How can this be connected today
This can be connected to today because there is no more segregation anywhere.
My reaction to this is that it was a great thing that they did even though it may not be considered a success it was still a really good thing for the civil rights movement.
