EAST ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
East Elementary fourth grade AR students who have reached their goal were invited to a Mardi Gras Party. Students made masks and decorated their individual king cakes.

Eunice Junior High School was honored to have Dr. Alsan Bellard as the guest speaker for the Black History Program, The Rise of Champion, held on Thursday, February 28.
We are extremely proud of all of the students who volunteered their time to perform with the choir led by Mr. Damien Papillion and Mr. Brandon Delaphous, perform with the band led by Mr. Lawrence Sassau, perform an interpretive dance to poetry, use their talents for public speaking to MC the event, introduce speakers, greet guests, or be attentive audience members.
Thank you to the History Club and Mrs. Kathy Bollich and Mrs. Brittany Ardoin for organizing the event with the help of Mrs. Dwanetta Scott and Mrs. Johnette Pitre. Thank you to Ms. Castille, Mrs. April Collins, and Mrs. Fran Lemelle for assisting with the choir and performers for the event.

PARK VISTA ELEMENTARY
Corrine Thibodeaux and Abigail Meche from Park Vista placed 3rd in Louisiana History (Division 1 - Group) at the State Social Studies Fair.
PORT BARRE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
Port Barre Elementary held Mard Gras Math/ELA night on Feb. 19. Students participated in a chicken run, Math and ELA activities in the classroom, followed by a shoe box parade. Participants received a goody bag that included a Mardi Gras cup, bead, and Scholastic book.
PORT BARRE HIGH SCHOOL
Stacey Fontenot's classes participated in hands-on STEM activities. Teachers created STEM Binds and correlating activities for the items in each bind. Each bind contains 10 to 12 activities for the contents provided. In one activity students used engineering skills to create the tallest possible structure with the materials given.
SOUTHWEST ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
On behalf of Southwest Elementary, we would like to thank the St. Landry Parish School Board IT department for all they for all they do for our school! They come when called upon, are friendly, and professional. They really are hardworking men and are often overlooked. We appreciate them!!!
SUNSET ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
Sunset Middle School participated in the Park Vista Elementary Mardi Gras Parade.
Sunset Middle School celebrated Dr. Seuss’ birthday in grand fashion! The students who earned 9 Accelerated Reader points were treated to a birthday treat bag filled with goodies. 85 students earned rewards.

United Way Campaign
St. Landry Parish School Board presented United Way with a check for donations collected from schools across the district totaling 1,161.00. We would like to thank the St. Landry-Evangeline United Way for their contributions to our district and all who contributed to the United Way Campaign!
